アメリカの国際写真賞『reFocus Awards』が主催する『2024 Black and White Photo Contest』のプロの部、フォトジャーナリズムカテゴリーで私の作品『HATAHATA』がHonorable Mentionを受賞しました。冬の日本海に向かい、神の魚『鰰(ハタハタ)』を追い求める故郷秋田の漁師の皆さまの姿です。大変お世話になり、毎年取材をさせていただいている思い入れの深い作品です。私はこれからも、故郷秋田で受け継がれてきた営みを世界に伝え、光を当てていきたいと思います。
